Mitsuru stood next to her friend, letting the shock of what she was seeing set in. Taking a breath to steady herself-- and to allow Fuuka a moment-- Mitsuru began to speak.
"We are not exactly certain what happened-- from all indications, your own assessment and ours, that Shadow Space was nothing out of the ordinary."
Mitsuru crossed her arms, glancing down at the floor of the room, criss crossed with wires.
"Perhaps we have become too complacent... in any case, there was some disruption towards the end of the mission, and the last thing we heard from Iori was that he needed back up. But upon our arrival..."
This was going to be the unpleasant part. Looking at Junpei, the Kirijo CEO steeled herself to the task.
"...There was no shadow space left; Junpei was laying alone in that alleyway, and... there was a great deal of blood. Enough that his healing ability wasn't able to keep up; we've had to give him a transfusion. But not only that..."
She glanced up at Aigis, hoping the android could continue the explanation.
